Our mission is to create sustainable livelihoods for rural women through the processing of locally grown agricultural produce. We strive to achieve this by
utilizing innovative and environmentally-friendly technologies to produce highquality, nutritious and value-added products. We are committed to promoting
gender equality and empowering women in rural areas, while also contributing to
the overall economic development of our communities.
Our Stories
Titiaka Boressa is a social enterprise established in 2018 whose vision is to
empower rural poor widows in the Upper East Region of Ghana through the
production of highest quality (Grade A) shea butter.
As pro-poor organization, we provide capacity building training and sensitization.
establishes small scale economic activities for women groups, advocates on
indigenous seed cultivation; organizes local food fairs and promotes the adoption of Agro-ecological farming practices and food processing for the past years.
The company has taken up a number of programs in various field in the Upper East Region and impacted positively on the lives of the most marginalized with much emphasis on the rural poor especially women farmers and those in the agricultural value chain. Titiaka Boressa facilitates development initiatives that empowers and sustains the livelihoods of households, promoting climate smart agriculture, enhancement food security and nutrition and empower women for gender equality in line with Sustainable Development Goals
Our Goals and Objectives
1. Empower women in rural areas by providing training and employment opportunities in Agro-processing.
2. Increase the value of locally grown agricultural products by processing them
into value-added products, thereby increasing the income of farmers and rural communities.
3. Expand market access for local agricultural products by identifying and
targeting new markets for the company’s products.
4. Promote entrepreneurship and innovation among women in rural areas, by
offering support and resources to start and grow their own Agro-processing businesses.
Our Approach
Our approach to sustainable community development is premise on the principle that recognizes the urgency of people living in poverty as active agents of development thereby allowing constituents to drive their own agenda whiles we facilitate the process leading to sustain change.
The organization has a five-member board of directors consisting of professionals and educationists with experience in social work and operations of the civil society subsector and serve as the governing body of the organization. Out of the five-member board, three are women with two being men. It is chaired by an elected chairperson as its head who controls and manages its operations with the support of other members.
